Story Secret Donation
One very decent civilized person lived in one village. His name was Deendayal. He was very compassionate just like his name. Coincidentally, he received a legacy of tremendous wealth from his old sister. He had not married and as such, had no wish to save the money. He always used to help the poor people. At that time he would not think of caste or creed. He felt that everybody should be better off. He used to give large donations.
He would give temporary help to someone. To someone he would fund monthly. He had given money to lots of schools and hospitals. If a poor man came to him, he would give him a fistful of coins.
He used to wander around the town. Wherever and whenever he felt like it, he would give money. Besides, he would never advertise the fact that he was helping so many people.
One night he had gone to a slum area. Outside one hut, he heard a woman shouting loudly. He stopped there. The woman was cursing her husband. He saw from the slit in the door.
The woman was shouting at her old blind husband. He was a beggar. He used to beg during the day. But on, that particular day, nobody had given him anything. He was apologizing to his wife and crying. But his wife did not feel any pity towards him.
Deendayal’s heart wrenched. He knocked on the door. The woman opened the door. Deendayal threw a bag of coins inside and without speaking left.
The woman stopped shouting. The husband and wife were very happy because they got so much money suddenly. But they never knew who had given them the money.
How would they know? It was a secret bequest by Deendayal. Our religious books say that the value of such secret donation is very great.
